Responsibilities

Description

Procter & Gamble’s Research and Development organization has openings for Post-Doctoral Research Scientists at our Mason, Ohio site focused on developing and implementing ultra-trace quantitative methods for analytes in various matrices using chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry.


You will join a state-of-the-art laboratory where teamwork and individual initiative are highly valued. Current core mass spectrometry (MS) instrumentation on-site includes twenty state-of-the-art triple quadrupole mass spectrometers and seven high resolution mass spectrometers, along with associated Ultra-High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC), Gas chromatography (GC) and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) equipment.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


Development and execute methods to determine ultra-trace analytes.


Perform all phases of applied research in a high-end analytical lab to solve problems in quantitation analysis.


Partner with customers to define problems, understand business and technical context, design experiments, execute plans, and communicate results.


Serve as a single point of contact from the mass spectrometry group to one or more customer organizations.


Own fully the responsibility to foster both a safe workplace and work systems that meet quality/compliance expectations.


Strong technical writing skills—including ability to create validation protocols, reports, and analytical methods.

Qualifications

You must have a Ph.D. degree based on research demonstrating in-depth knowledge of mass spectrometry and Analytical Chemistry. You should have technical mastery of the quantitation of small organic molecules. Significant experience with Thermo, Sciex and/or Agilent MS software and techniques such as HPLC, GC, SFC, as well as CAD or Evaporative Light-Scattering Detection will be a plus. You should also have skills in leadership, innovation and creative problem solving, collaboration with people in other disciplines, and strong oral and written communication.
